See all 2 photos

Sometimes you can see the following error messages on every computer startup or when a particular program is opened:

"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'TrayApp.msi' in the box below."

or

"HPProductAssistant' the feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available."

Reasons and attempt to fix

Any this error can appear after the usage of Registry Cleaner or Registry Fix Tool. The error message can contain different texts but it should obligatorily contain the name that refers to Windows Installer or ends with .msi extension. And if you will hit OK, then you can see another error message. This type of errors appears because any program application has not finish its installation or removal correctly and tries to restore itself, because file is lost or the associated registry key is deleted. In order to eliminate all these errors, you can try to use the Windows installation disk of the appropriate version that becomes the MSI file. You can just insert the disk and click OK.

Installer Cleanup Utility

If the MSI Startup Errors appears again then you can find the file on your hard drive or reinstall the program. For the problems that are bound with HP Digital Imaging Software you can use the disk that is attached to the HP printer, camera or scanner. If you have no disk, then download Installation Software from HP Web-site. Use Add/Remove Programs in order to delete the existing on your computer version and then install the newest version that you have already downloaded. If the reinstallation of the programs doesn't help to get rid of the error, then clean the MSI registry keys that refer to the program, using Microsoft Windows Installer Cleanup Utility.

You can download and learn how to use it here.

But remember it is easier to prevent errors. For that be sure that your Registry Cleaner and Spyware removal utility don’t delete files and registry keys that belong to your programs. And if you don’t want to use a program any more, then use Add or Remove Programs tool. You can find it in Start/Control Panel. This uninstaller will remove all the registry keys that correspond to the removing program.

You can also try the following:

1. Click Start, then select Run.

2. Type msconfig

3. Click to Startup tab and delete all the non-required entries.

4. Restart the System.

Also this error message can be false one, if you have some viruses on your computer. Install any reliable antivirus and scan your operational system for infection.
